- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or a sugar substitute
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)
Method
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Drain the excess fat and set the beef aside.
- In the same skillet, add a little oil if needed and sauté the broccoli florets until bright green and just tender.
- Push the broccoli to the sides, clear a well in the center, and sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Mix the soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil, then pour it over the beef and broccoli.
- Stir well so everything's coated, and cook another 3-4 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Serve hot, with red pepper flakes if you want the heat.
