Reps in Reserve
Log a set with the reps you had left and get the max it points to. It uses the reps you didn't do, which is more honest than pretending every set went to failure.

0 left · RPE 10Maximal. No more reps possible.—
0.5 left · RPE 9.5Could maybe manage one more.—
1 left · RPE 9One rep left in the tank.—
1.5 left · RPE 8.5One certain, possibly two.—
2 left · RPE 8Two reps left.—
2.5 left · RPE 7.5Two certain, possibly three.—
3 left · RPE 7Three reps left. Weight moves quickly.—
3.5 left · RPE 6.5Three certain, possibly four.—
4 left · RPE 6Four or more left. Warm-up territory.—
This is more honest than a to-failure formula because it uses the reps you did not do. It still depends on your call. Heavy sets close to failure give the best read; a long set with four left tells you much less.
