What I learned in my 30's

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday, prompting deep reflection on the journey through my 30s. It wasn't what I envisioned, but it's led to unexpected growth and potential.

College marked the beginning of my 30s—a hurdle I navigated with relative ease, despite grappling with occasional feelings of loneliness. I graduated with a solid GPA and entered a relationship I believed would last a lifetime. However, despite my efforts to build a strong partnership, challenges emerged. My partner's discomfort with the relationship led to a tumultuous period, marked by desperate attempts to stabilize myself while fulfilling obligations to friends and roommates. The fallout from these struggles was painful, resulting in the loss of cherished friendships and profound lessons in self-compassion.

The breakup and subsequent fallout forced me to confront unresolved wounds from my past, including old injuries and emotional scars. Prioritizing my mental health became paramount, guiding my journey towards healing and self-discovery. Despite the challenges, I remain grateful for the opportunity to exercise regularly, anchoring my physical and emotional well-being.

As I commemorated my milestone birthday with old friends and comrades, I realized the importance of slowing down and prioritizing self-care. Over the past five years, I've focused on developing healthy daily practices that support both myself and those around me. This personal mission has become central to my life, driving me to empower others in their pursuit of holistic well-being.
