How I Know the Decisions I Make Are Good Ones

I was trying to figure out what I wanted to write about today so that way I can film the things going on in my head as I am writing what is in this content. You can actually go to my youtube channel right now and my first free form "Therapy session," I.E what I write about in there. I wanted to share some thoughts on how I figure out if the decisions I make are good ones. You know, the kind of decisions that not only keep me on track but also help the people I care about. Because it seems as if our ability to reason some of these things through really seems to be lacking in the world right now.

First off, the people around me are always my top priority. Whenever I have to make a choice, I ask myself if it’s going to benefit my family, friends, or colleagues. It’s like this built-in radar that helps me navigate life. Seeing them happy and thriving because of something I did is the best feeling ever.

Then there’s making sure my actions match my intentions. It’s super easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind and lose sight of what really matters. But I always try to check in with myself to see if what I’m doing actually lines up with my true goals and values. When my actions reflect my genuine intentions and I achieve what I set out to do, that’s when I know I’m staying true to myself.

One of the best tools I’ve found is the Dale Carnegie method. It’s all about assuming the other person has good intentions before jumping to conclusions. This has been a game-changer for me. It’s helped me handle conflicts with more empathy and build stronger relationships. By giving people the benefit of the doubt, I find it easier to communicate and resolve misunderstandings. Plus, it just makes life a whole lot more pleasant.

That said, this approach isn’t foolproof. There have been times when it didn’t work out so well. The most recent example was my decision to work with a business partner. Despite trying to see things from their perspective and assuming the best, it just didn’t pan out. It was a tough pill to swallow, but it also reminded me to stay sharp and trust my instincts.

So, that’s pretty much how I roll. I focus on benefiting the people around me, making sure my actions align with my intentions, and always assuming good intentions from others. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s served me well more often than not. And even when things don’t go as planned, I know I’m staying true to who I am and what I believe in.

I hope this gives you a little insight into how I make decisions and maybe even helps you in your own journey.
